Terms of Service

The agreement between you and EvCentra Pvt Ltd governing your use of our app, website and charging network.

1. The parties

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding contract between you ("you", "user") and EvCentra Private Limited, a private limited company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013, with CIN CIN allotment in progress, registered office at Sy. No. 132, Bhavya's Akhila Exotica, Hyderabad, Telangana 500085, India ("EvCentra", "we", "us").

By creating an account, downloading the EvCentra app, or using any EvCentra service, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, Refund & Cancellation Policy, Service Delivery Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. The service

EvCentra operates a software platform (mobile app + website + APIs) that lets electric-vehicle drivers locate, reserve and pay for charging sessions at participating third-party charging stations across India. EvCentra is a technology platform; the actual electricity is delivered by the operator of each charging site.

EvCentra makes no representation that any specific charging station, plug type or power level will be available at any specific time. We publish a live-verified view of the network based on operator telemetry and driver-app pings.

3. Your account

To use the service you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old;
  • Provide a valid Indian mobile number, email and accurate identity details;
  • Hold a valid driving licence and own or be authorised to operate the vehicle you charge.

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Any session started from your account is presumed authorised by you. Notify security@evcentra.com immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

4. Payments, GST & pricing

All prices are in Indian Rupees (₹) and exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. EvCentra applies 18% GST on each session and issues a GST-compliant tax invoice (containing GSTIN GSTIN allotment in progress) within 30 minutes of session completion.

Per-kWh prices vary by charging site and plug type and are displayed in the app before you start a session. EvCentra Plus is billed monthly at the rate displayed in the app at the point of purchase.

Payments are processed through PCI-DSS-certified gateways (currently Razorpay). EvCentra does not store card or UPI VPA details on its servers. For DC fast charging we may place a temporary authorisation hold of ₹500 to verify the payment method; the hold is released when the session ends.

5. Using a charger

By starting a session you confirm that:

  • The vehicle being charged is compatible with the plug at the stall;
  • You have read and will follow all safety instructions on the charger and in the app;
  • You will not leave a vehicle plugged in longer than necessary at a busy site;
  • You accept the per-kWh price displayed in the app before you tap "Start charging."

Charging is delivered by the operator of the site, not by EvCentra. If a charger malfunctions during a session and we determine the fault is on EvCentra's verifier or the operator's equipment, your next session is free up to ₹500 (see the Service Delivery Policy).

6. Cancellation & refunds

You may cancel an EvCentra Plus subscription at any time from Settings → Subscription or by emailing billing@evcentra.com. We refund the unused portion pro-rata to the original payment method within 7 business days. See the full Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose, including fraudulent payment;
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to access non-public EvCentra APIs;
  • Impersonate another driver or commercial fleet without authorisation;
  • Block, vandalise, or otherwise misuse any charging stall;
  • Resell EvCentra-issued energy without a separate written agreement.

8. Charging-site operators

EvCentra has separate written agreements with each charging-site operator on the network. Operators are responsible for (i) the safe operation of their equipment, (ii) the accuracy of energy metering, and (iii) compliance with the Electricity Act, 2003 and applicable Central Electricity Authority (CEA) safety regulations. EvCentra verifies operator telemetry but is not the supplier of electricity.

9. Intellectual property

The EvCentra name, logo, mark, and all associated trademarks, the app, the website, the verifier APIs, the design system and all related source code are the exclusive property of EvCentra Pvt Ltd. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use them except to access the service as a driver or operator.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EvCentra's total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) ₹10,000 or (b) the total amount you paid to EvCentra in the 12 months preceding the claim.

EvCentra is not liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, or loss of data, even if foreseeable.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EvCentra, its affiliates, and their officers and employees from any claim, loss or expense arising from (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of any charger, or (c) your violation of any applicable law.

12. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, used the service fraudulently, or pose a safety or security risk. You may terminate your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified in the app and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing law & jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising out of these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Hyderabad, Telangana, India, save for any right EvCentra has to seek injunctive relief in any competent court.

Before initiating litigation, the parties agree to attempt good-faith resolution through the grievance officer for at least 30 days.

Grievances are acknowledged within 24 hours and resolved within 15 days.
