The network
What does "verified within 60 seconds" mean?
Every charger on the EvCentra map is connected to our verifier over OCPP. We sample state every 30 seconds and cross-check it against driver-app pings. If a stall hasn't reported in 60 seconds, or its operator-reported state disagrees with a driver-app ping, it's marked unverified and hidden from the map until we can re-verify.
How many chargers are on EvCentra today?
EvCentra is launching in 2026 from Hyderabad. We are onboarding founding charging partners now and will publish live counts the moment public access opens.
Which cities is EvCentra live in?
All major Indian metros — Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad — plus 54 more cities and the Golden Quadrilateral highway corridors. See the full coverage list.
Why don't I see this charger I know is working?
One of three reasons: (1) the operator hasn't joined EvCentra yet — let us know and we'll reach out, (2) the charger is reporting state but disagreeing with driver pings, so we've temporarily hidden it, or (3) it's a private/restricted stall not open to the public. Email drivers@evcentra.com with the location and we'll investigate.
Charging
Which plug types are supported?
CCS-2 (most DC fast in India), Type-2 (AC), GB/T (legacy), and a small number of CHAdeMO sites. The app filters by plug type so you only see chargers that fit your vehicle.
How do I start a session?
Open the app, tap the stall, tap "Start charging," and plug in (or plug in first, then tap — both work). The session ends when you unplug; you can also stop it manually from the app.
What if the charger doesn't start after I tap?
The app will retry once, then offer to refund the authorisation hold and report the stall. If the issue persists, your next session is free up to ₹500 — auto-credited to your wallet.
Can I reserve a stall before I arrive?
EvCentra Plus members can reserve any stall for up to 10 minutes, free. The countdown starts the moment you reserve and the stall is locked to you until you arrive (or the timer runs out). Reservations are off by default for Pay-as-you-go users to keep the network open.
Pricing & billing
How much does it cost to use EvCentra?
There's no app fee or sign-up fee. You pay per kWh at rates set by each charging site (₹14.50/kWh on AC up to ₹24/kWh on the fastest DC stalls), plus 18% GST. EvCentra Plus is available at ₹299/month for members who want lower per-kWh rates.
Is GST included in the price shown?
The per-kWh price shown on the map is GST-exclusive. We add 18% GST at checkout and issue a GST-compliant invoice within 30 minutes of every session, including EvCentra Pvt Ltd's GSTIN (GSTIN allotment in progress) and yours if you've added it.
Why is there a temporary hold of ₹500 on my card?
That's a payment-authorisation hold to verify the card before you start charging on a DC fast stall. It is released automatically when the session ends; you're only charged for the actual energy delivered. The hold typically clears in 3–5 business days depending on your bank.
I run a company. Can I get invoices in my company name?
Yes. Add your company name and GSTIN under Settings → Billing in the app, and every future session invoice will be issued in your company's name. You can also re-issue past invoices on request.
Refunds & cancellations
How do refunds work?
If a session fails through no fault of yours, we refund to source within 7 business days. If you were over-charged, write to billing@evcentra.com with the session ID and we'll investigate within 48 hours. Full policy: Refund & Cancellation.
Can I cancel EvCentra Plus anytime?
Yes. Settings → Subscription → Cancel. We refund the unused portion of the month pro-rata to the original payment method within 7 business days. There are no lock-ins.
Privacy & data
What data does EvCentra collect?
Your phone number (for OTP login), email, vehicle make/model (optional but improves routing), payment method, and your charging history. Location is used only when the app is open and only to show nearby chargers. We never sell data to third parties. Full disclosures: Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Account → Delete account. We keep the minimum data required by law (GST invoices for 8 years, per the CGST Act) and delete everything else within 30 days. Or email privacy@evcentra.com.
Operators
How do I list my chargers on EvCentra?
Email operators@evcentra.com with the number of sites, your CMS, and your timeline. We target two-week onboarding for OCPP 1.6 / 2.0.1 CMSes as a founding partner — see For operators for the integration docs.
What's the commission?
EvCentra takes a flat platform fee per session — no revenue share. Exact terms depend on volume; talk to operators@evcentra.com.
